Rita Buscaja

Rita Buscaja is a painter from Brazil. But before becoming a painter, Rita, in her native land, worked on a completely different type of canvas, not in fabric but in polystyrene in order to create themed decorations for children's birthdays. She cut, filed, painted and glittered this initially raw material to bring Disney characters to life and thus amaze the eyes of toddlers. She herself made all the objects that could compose the scenes representing the castles, in volumes, like those of Aladdin, Cinderella or the Little Mermaid, Harry Potter, Dragon Ball, among others... It was at that time that her passion for art was awakened.

Married to a French expatriate, she decides to join her husband in Africa, and more precisely in Gabon. There she continues her work in event decorations.

Among its very large clientele, there were individuals (weddings, birthdays), associations or businesses (hotels, restaurants, schools, cinemas, supermarkets) and sometimes even influential personalities, such as the first lady of Gabon, for events related to the Presidency.

A few years later, Rita moved to Brazzaville (Congo) with her family. Her event decoration activity continued but she also had the opportunity to rub shoulders with the high diplomatic sphere and meet Ambassadors' wives during informal lunches and dinners. It was during one of these meals that at the end of the table, she saw a painting of a red hibiscus, which instantly captivated her. She was fascinated and stunned for a long moment which seemed interminable to her. At that moment, she knew that her career as an artist had taken a decisive turn.
